Our freshly harvested, crisp green beans
French beans, green beans, broad beans or 'beans' for short, they are part of our traditional Flemish cuisine. The rich taste of fresh, locally grown beans can be found in many different recipes. Whether cooked, stir-fried or sautéed in a pan, the delicious flavour makes everyone's mouth water. The freshly harvested green beans are full of fibre, carotenes and antioxidants and moreover they are very low in calories. The fresher the beans are, the more easily the body can absorb the nutrients. A good reason to put them on the menu regularly.
It's best not to keep fresh green beans in the fridge: they could develop brown spots. It's better to keep them in a cool, dry place, where they can be kept for up to 4 days.
